UPN 27, the territorys newest TV station in 10 years, is now on the air.
The station can be received free with any rooftop or indoor set and is included in all cable TV programming packages in the Virgin Islands, said Marty Adamshick, who along with Victor Gold owns the Christiansted-based station.
UPN 27 is a primary network affiliate of the United Paramount Network, Adamshick said. The stations prime time lineup for Monday includes the sitcoms "Moehsa," "The Parkers," "Grown Ups" and "Malcom and Eddie." Tuesday features "Secret Agent Man" and the cop show "The Beat." Wednesday starts with the sci-fi favorite "Star Trek: Voyager." World Wrestling Federation action tops Thursdays programming and "Shockwave Cinema" is featured on Friday.
"Disneys 1 Too" childrens programming airs Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Sunday mornings from 9 to 11.
For news junkies, national and international news will come from CNN. Adamshick said the station will also carry shows of local interest and locally produced programming.
The station is now broadcasting seven days a week from 1:30 to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are noon to 11:30 p.m. Sundays' are 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Adamshick said the station plans to expand operating hours soon.
