WINDOL JAY ROBINSON DEAD AT 38

July 16, 2001 – Windol Jay Robinson passed away July 15 in Birmingham, Ala., after a long illness. He was 38 years old. Jay was married to the former Cathie Pauza Tunick of St. Thomas. Cathie was a 1981 graduate of Antilles School of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Jay had a Bachelor's degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University where he and Cathie met. They married in 1988 and went on to have two children, Jimmy, age 9, and Anna, age 6. Jay later obtained an MBA degree from UAB in Birmingham. He worked for Teledyne Corporation in Huntsville on the space station project as a subcontractor for NASA, and later worked as a project manager for Hoar Construction Corporation.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his mother, Mel Robinson of Mountain Brook, Ala., a brother Mark Robinson and sister-in-law Nicola Robinson of Birmingham, a sister Melann Schollenberger and brother-in-law David Schollenberger of Washington, D.C., as well as three nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by his in-laws Jim and Becky Tunick of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Shirley Tunick of Dade City, Florida.
Viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19 followed by services at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.
Arrangements are by Ridout's Valley Chapel, Birmingham.
