A man who was scheduled to face trial in a St. Thomas murder case pleaded guilty at a hearing held Monday in Superior Court. A Superior Court judge accepted the change of plea from defendant Luis Mota Rivas.

Ambrose Daniel, 44, of St. Croix, made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Emile A. Henderson III after a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Daniel with felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and unlawful possession of a machinegun, United States Attorney Delia L. Smith announced Thursday.
