Employee Charged in $20,000 Window Theft Case

A man has been arrested and charged after police said he stole more than $20,000 worth of windows from his employer on St. Croix, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, Nigel Noelien turned himself in Tuesday at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Operation Building, where he was served an arrest warrant and taken into custody without incident.

Detectives with the Economic Crimes Unit began investigating Noelien on Aug. 20, 2025. The investigation found that while employed by L.E.M. Enterprises LLC, he took windows that did not belong to him, resulting in a loss of $20,221.26 to the complainant, police said.

Noelien was charged with grand larceny and embezzlement by employee.

Bail was set at $35,000, with 10 percent required. He posted $3,500 and was released pending an advice of rights hearing, according to the VIPD.
