Roy Simmonds Dies at 73

Roy Simmonds, aka “Heads”, of Maryland, passed away on Feb. 23. He was 73 years old.

He was preceded by his mother, Octavia Barnes; father, Alexander Simmonds; daughter, Rona A. Simmonds; son, Khamal S. Simmonds; granddaughter, Renesia A. Petrus, Rhe-anne A. Martin; brothers, Rodney A. Simmonds, Joseph Simmonds Sr.; niece, Rhea; great-nephew, Randy Sr.; and aunt, Inez Goodings.

He is survived by daughters, Sherna Simmonds, Shamalla Simmonds, Andrea Simmonds-Brown, Kira Simmonds, Shada Monique Simmonds; sons, Raphello Harris Simmonds, Jason Simmonds; grandchildren, Renesia Petrus, Rhe-Ann Martin, Shemira Boynes, Rihonna Snipe-Simmonds, Rejah Canai, Tazarah Canai, Shalaijah Henry, Brianna Alise Hicks, Ky’Mora Myles, Amadi Rona Brown, Cainden Brown, Shanaii Nichole & Shaiann Caroline Cuencas, Jah’Zarie Simmonds, Michael Cuencas, Kai Imani Williams, Caiden Lesalle Brown; great-grandchildren, Erheion Bates, Austin Wise, Keinesia Godwin, Jamaul Henry Jr, Jamaur Henry; sisters, Gwendolyn Lee Hodge, Mildred O’Bryan; nieces, Raynell A. Funeral service will be held on April 6 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Viewing begins at 9 a.m., with service at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Frederiksted Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to James Memorial Funeral Home, Inc.
