Joycelyn A. C. Claxton Dies

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joycelyn A. C. Claxton on Nov. 23, 2025.  

Joycelyn A. C. Claxton

She was preceded in death by her father Allan Martin, mother Lillian Matthew and son Alexis Claxton. 

Joycelyn is survived by her husband, Leroy Claxton Sr.; children Nathasha Claxton and Leroy Claxton Jr.; and siblings, Cynthia Hunte, Collie Joseph, Charmaine Joseph, Francene Vazquez (Nick Vazquez), Dennis Martin and Delvin Martin.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Allan Hunte (Karen Hunte), Helen Engerman, Nikiesha Joseph, Rho Blackwell, Nichole Vazquez, Delvin Martin Jr., Delma Martin, Jamour Martin, Paris Martin, and Saniyah Martin; great nieces and nephews, Lakeisha Pemberton (Brandon Pemberton), Ariana Engerman, Nalla Hunte, John Engerman II, and Jason Hunte. 

She is additionally survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces- and nephews-in-law, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews-in-law, along with godchildren, extended family, and dear friends, including the Walters, Fleming’s, Smith’s, Monticeux’s, and many others too numerous to mention.

The First viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at New Herrnhut Moravian Church Thursday Dec. 18 with viewing from 9  a.m.-10 a.m., service will begin at 10 a.m.  Interment will be in New Herrnhut Moravian Cemetery.
