Celebrating the Life of Yelmo Elvicto Chinnery, Jr. 

April 30, 1962 – December 18, 2024 

A fun and loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, great uncle, and great-great uncle, and friend, Yelmo Elvicto Chinnery, Jr was born on April 30, 1962 on the island of St. Thomas to  the late Alberta Herbert Chinnery and the late Yelmo Elvicto Chinnery, Sr.

Yelmo Jr. grew up in a household of about 11 siblings all at once. Yelmo started to work at a young age; first at  Bachman’s Baketry, then at Rodriquez Auto Parts. He was a hard worker and even found time to learn to sew. He was a master at it, as was his late mother. Yelmo was always cracking jokes but  was always willing to help anyone when needed. He was good with his hands and could fix  anything. Yelmo will forever be missed by all those who were touched by his presence.

Yelmo is survived by his Sisters:  Alexia Chinnery, Carol Chinnery, Carolyn Chinnery Nibbs, Cherilyn Browne, Jacklyn Chinnery,  and Jaslyn Chinnery Lewis, Brothers: Wayne Chinnery, Nolle Barzey, Sr., Carol Chinnery, Louis Chinnery, Wilbert Browne, Carlos  Chinnery Sr., and Elvicto Chinnery, Nieces: Destini and Simfoni Nibbs, Jade and Jayla Holloway, Kemayah Lewis, Camela Barzey, Kameka  Barzey Shabazz, Natasha and Shamoya Barzey, Solaniece and Olewukemi Chinnery, Carolyn T.  Chinnery, Jahkiesha Gumbs, and Josephina Chinnery, Nephews: Brian Polite, Pedrito and Jayvanno Chinnery, Lorenzo and Raymero Mills, Giovanno Fleming,  Cameron, Kieron, and Kelani Luke, Jalen Holloway, Nolle Barzey Jr, Kwamain Johnson, Adany  Browne, Carlos Chinnery Jr., Dante and Deshaun Chinnery, and Fellow Chinnery, Aunt: Iantha Chinnery, Uncle: Lindey Chinnery, Brother -in – Law: Rochester Lewis II, Sister – in – Law: Verna Chinnery.Many other great and great- great nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Special Friends and family: St. Croix Mission Outreach Family, Jerraine Miller, Merle Wynter, Soyoni Quashie and Patricia George.

Funeral Services is scheduled to be on Feb. 21, at Divine Funeral Services Chapel, 129 Peter’s Rest. Service will begin at 10 a.m.

Interment follows to the Kingshill Cemetery.
