Norman E. Mason

Norman E. Mason, also known as “Lion,” died on Aug. 15.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Melissa Brooks-Lewis; father, Antonio Mason; grandmother, Eurika Jackson; grandfathers: Lawrence Mason and James Brooks; aunts: Sharon Christian and Dolores David and Kathleen Lina; and uncle, Norman Brooks.

He survived by daughters: Jahdisha Mason and Takiana Didier; granddaughter, Anejah Mason; son, Antonio Mason; brothers: Rodney Mason and Anthony Mason; sister, Ineta Lewis-Penn; aunts: Corlina, Clarissa, Sylventia Brooks and Shirley Lewis-Joseph; uncles: James Jr., Leroy, Marvin, Ezekiel and Shawn Brooks; nieces: Melijah and Sade Mason, and Denijah Drinkwater; and nephews: Jahmeki and Amir Mason, Deontae Lewis and Raykai and Raequan Penn.

He is also survived by cousins: Daja Brooks-James, Emandi and Nia, Aliyah, Akilo and Leroy, Kedar, Kemona, Shawn III, Brandon, Aaliyah and Lynda “Nikki” Brooks, Shawn Sealey and J’Nel Edgecomb-Phillips, Nyasia and Donasia Reed, Jumaari Camacho, Daakeem Hodge, Raquel and Raven Christian, Ashley Brooks-Paulson, Howard Milton Jr., Rauma Lewis, Beniah Campbell, Abia, Ahijah and Asheim Joseph, and other cousins too numerous to mention.

Other survivors include godchildren: Cordae’Ja and Adaliah Goodwin, Re’Kai Graham, Re’Nylah Fernand and Jeremiah Edwards; special companion, Tyiasha Moore; and special friends: Davin, the Goodwin Family, Isaac Family, Browne Family, Thompson Family, Mingo Family, 289 Family, LaValle Family, Williams Family, Edward Family, Graham Family, Libert Family, Felix Family, Mason Family, Brooks Family, Red Brick Family, Fangi Family, Glynn Family, Fredensborg Family and the Entire Mon Bijou Family Community; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, at Kingshill Funeral Home Chapel, Clifton Hill, 303 Kingshill St. Croix.

The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, at Kingshill Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
