Nigel S. F. Davis Dies at 63

Nigel S. F. Davis, also known as “Steve,” died on Sunday, Aug. 4. He was 63 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Davis; mother, Maria Carr; sister: Rochelle “Iqueen” Davis; grandmothers: Janet Michael and Ida Jarvis Wiltshire; grandfathers: Charles Davis and Edgar Wilkerson; aunts: Ruth Ford and Annette Joseph; uncles: Arthur Batt and Reynold Cornelius; and special friend, Richard “Keba” Petrus.

He is survived by his daughter, Shari Felicia Davis-Henry; son, Shawn Quinton Davis; caregiver and blessed empress, Joanne S. Alfred; grandchildren:  Mya Henry, Marlon Henry Jr. and Mason Henry; son-in-law, Marlon Henry Sr.; sisters: Jacqueline “Jackie” and Marcella “Nasha;” brothers: Austin Jr. (“Wave”), Kessoon (“Rudi”) and Tyrone (“T-Rock”); godchildren: Destinee Turnbull and Zaniyah Prince; and sister-in-law, Dianne Edwards.

He is also survived by special aunts: Rose Southwell and Cassilda Joseph; and special friends: Reverend and Mrs. Gregory Gibson, Mary Abbott, Neil Stanley, Eulander Carr, Gerard L. James II, Jenelle James, Peggy Nestor, Anthony Thompson, Annalee Polo, Lissett Acevedo, Shamoya McBean Prince, Mrs. Heather Richards, Leander Francis, Sharon Ward, Learie Lezama, Shermaine Samuel, Judy Phillip, Cuso and Pinky Schuster, DeGazon Family Circle, Octavia Ferdinand.

And other special friends: Monelle Charles, Ivan Sargeant, Henry Milligan, James Funeral Home staff, Tristan and Priscilla Jones, Tina Lafond and Jada Harris, Marcie Johnson and family, and Laurie Thomas-Jacobs; cousins and other relatives: Olivette Simmonds, Denise, Vernon Jr. and Joleen Ford, Christine King, Mariel Thompson, Maelo Ayala, Phil Merchant, “Katalyss” Alexander,  Reggae Bubblers, Up A Level Band; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to be called by name.

The viewing is scheduled for 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Friedensberg Moravian Church, Frederiksted, St. Croix. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
