DPW Updates Public on First Avenue Drainage Project.

Project: First Avenue Drainage Project

Summary: The Department of Public Works (DPW) informs the community of progress on the First Avenue Drainage Project on St. Thomas. DPW contractor — Island Roads Corp. — has completed paving on 9th and 10th Streets (Work Zone 2). The construction on 7th and 8th Streets (Work Zone 3) commenced this week.

There will be a single-lane closure between 9th and 10th Streets during work hours. Motorists traveling on 9th Street will be allowed to exit left onto First Avenue and turn right to access 8th Street. Also, motorists traveling down 7th Street will be allowed to turn right onto First Avenue.

All parked and abandoned vehicles must be removed from the roadsides to ensure roadwork can continue as scheduled. The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory.ย  www.dpw.vi.gov
