Melbourne Glendor Petersen

Melbourne Glendor Petersen, also known as “Bamboula,” of Estate Calquohoun transitioned into eternal peace on July 3.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, La’Quan Hill; and brother, Floyd Petersen.

He is survived by his daughter, Donicia Hill David; sons: Melbourne G. Petersen Jr., Melbourne Ismael Petersen and Larry Hill; grandchildren: Sarah Simon, Felicia David, Terry Morton, T’Rique David, Larry Hill Jr., Isaiah Petersen and Jacob Petersen; and great-grandchildren: Kaiden Morton, Taisha-Rose Morton, Terry Morton Jr., J’Noi Eusebe,  J’Kori Eusebe, Ozanie Hill and Angelene Prince.

He is also survived by sisters: Ferrynesia H. Benjamin, Sharon Petersen, Yvonne B. Hodge, Rhea Petersen and Lucinda Petersen; brothers: Liston Petersen, Verne Petersen and Delwyn Petersen; and nieces: Sara Iris Rivera, Tiwana Williams, Barbara and Virginia Solomon, Stephnie Brown, Coreen Partlow, Jo-ann Belle, Allison Petersen, Venisha Wilson Rommis, Akeema Browne, Sharon Boyd and Kathy Richardson, Mariam A. Hodge, Akilah Hodge and Carmen F. Hodge.

He is also survived by nephews: Floyd Petersen Jr., Anthony Petersen, Gregory Penn, Marvin Petersen, Kevin Petersen, Steven Richardson, Oumbashi Petersen, Lawrence Benjamin, Russell George, Wayne Hodge, Ofari K. Benjamin, Roland England, Michael Nashimba Penn, Sidney Richardson, Floyd Hodge, Angel Lujando and Roger George; great niece, Evanna A. Elliot; and daughter-in-law, Samantha Petersen.

Other survivors include son-in-law, Dale Ross; brother-in-law, Cecil R. Benjamin; sister-in-law, Celeste Petersen; and special friends: Kenrick Ephraim, Luz James II, Orlando Ramirez, Elroy Yarwood, Deleno Francis, X The Spot Family, VI Veterans Affairs, American Legion Post 102, Mario Christian, Oliver Henley, Larry Francis, Augustin Christian, Roy Anduze, Angelita Gautier and Henry Armstrong; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
