
On May 10, eight athletes between the ages of 14 and 21 from the St. Croix Track Club traveled to San German, Puerto Rico for the Association of Youth/Junior Athletics (AAJI) Championships Finals Track & Field event.
Safiya Prasad came out victorious in the 400m hurdles, just four seconds shy of Michelle Smith’s AAJI 14-15 age division record of 66.04 seconds, according to the press release.
Jordan Vaughn took gold and silver in the Javelin throw and Shot Put respectively, the press release stated.
Davina Browne, who has been in the sport for less than two years, claimed bronze in the Javelin throw and smashed the High School, U20, and National record with a throw of 30.56 meters, the release stated.

AโSharia Bernadine โย Bronze in Shot Put โ 9.02m, 6thย in Javelin – 8.60m 14.15 age group
Aminah Prasad โย Bronze in 100mH-17.09sec – 14/15 age group
Jahleya George โย 8thย in Javelin-15.95min, in Shot Put – 7.65m in the 16/17 age group
Kahlan Beaupierre โย 5thย in Javelin-33.10m, 8thย in Shot Put – 8.92mย in the 16/17 age group
