Ocean Point Terminals Recognizes Local Charities for Community Work, Donates $300,000 to 20 Non-Profits

Ocean Point Terminals

Ocean Point Terminals (Ocean Point) recently recognized 22 non-profit organizations for their work in the community and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local charities.

“The charities we are honoring today are the pillars that support the most vulnerable among us,” said Todd Dillabough, chief executive officer.  “They work tirelessly to address the myriad of challenges our community faces, and we remain committed to providing the resources that will help them make the greatest impact within our community,” added Mr. Dillabough.

The organizations honored Friday were collectively awarded more than $300,000 in funding in 2023, as part of the company’s charitable giving program.  Under Ocean Point Terminal’s Charitable Contributions program, donation requests must support the advancement of education, environmental stewardship and community sustainability.

Many of the organizations Ocean Point supports focus on enhancing STEM-related instruction, providing skills-learning opportunities, and promoting cultural activities within the community.  In addition, all donations must be approved by the Government of the Virgin Islands (GVI) under the operating agreement between Ocean Point Terminals and the GVI.

Ocean Point also provides support for scholarships and training, annually, and donated more than $200,000 to that end last year.  “Our support is at multiple levels in our community.  In addition to Ocean Point’s Charitable Contributions program, we also provide financial resources for technical programs at UVI, annual college scholarships, and year-round student internships,” said Dillabough.

The organizations honored included:

American Cancer Society Inc.

Boy Scouts of America

Calypso Inc.

Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls

Caribbean Drag Racing Association

Center for Educational Growth

Children’s Museum of St. Croix

Choices Basketball Association

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and PFA Compliance Manager Carol Burke were also on hand to celebrate the non-profit organizations.  Ocean Point Terminals remains committed to being a valued member of the community by strengthening it, and our annual giving demonstrates that commitment.  “We believe that generosity is the fuel that keeps the engine of progress running, and we hope our efforts have set a remarkable example over the years that will inspire others to follow in our footsteps to support our community,” said Dillabough.

The cycle for the Charitable Contributions program begins in January every year, and the deadline to submit charitable donation requests is September 30.
