Vehicle Unlawfully Removed From St. John Car Rental Parking Lot

A man was arrested for unlawfully removing a vehicle from a car rental business on St. John, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Sunday, at approximately 04:34 p.m., VIPD was dispatched to Cool Breeze Car Rental, located on St. John, regarding an unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to the police report.

Upon arrival, the complainant was contacted, who stated that Kassahun Stapleton-Harris was observed in a Cool Breeze Rental vehicle. The complainant also stated that Stapleton-Harris was not given permission to remove the vehicle from the car rental parking lot. The vehicle was later recovered on Bordeaux Mountain, the police report stated.

On Tuesday, at approximately 12:05 p.m., Stapleton-Harris was arrested after confessing to removing a vehicle from the Cool Breeze Parking Lot on Sunday. He was booked, processed, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing on Wednesday, the report stated.
