Woman Charged with Fraud Surrenders

An investigation into Love Pluviose resulted in multiple charges and an arrest without incident Friday the V.I. Police Department reported.

Detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into Pluviose June 23, 2021 which revealed that on May 5, 2021, Pluviose and an accomplice knowingly used an individual’s identity for medical treatment at the Juan F. Luis Hospital on two separate occasions according to the report.  It stated this caused the individual to incur a debt of $3,621 in medical bills.

Pluviose surrendered Friday and was charged with identity theft, acting in an assumed character, fraudulent claim on the government, fraudulent insurance claims and participating in frauds on creditors, the report stated.

Her bail was set at $5,500 and she was released on an unsecured bond, pending her advice of rights hearing on Monday at the Virgin Islands Superior Court.
