Mary Walcott of D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace died on Jan. 10. She was 97 years old.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ray T. Martin; sisters: Elisabeth Walcott and Evaney Walcott; and niece, Veronica James.
She is survived by her son, Jaime Rodriguez; daughters: RitaMae Martin, Mae Agnes Foster and Geneva Rodriguez; adopted daughter, Delores Edwards; grandchildren: Fernando Martin, Theresa Martin, Asha Martin, Yvette Velez-Lapree, Michelle Velez-Gordon, Michael Velez, Roberto Velez Jr., Nicole Velez-Johnson, Analisa Velez, Antonio F. Velez, Glestil John, George John, Akiema V. John, Ralph Benjamin and Edwin Steven-Ivory Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren: Speciale, Aasha, Japhari, Fernando (Pollo), Grace-Marie, Fe-Marie, Aviah, Omena, Kamilyn and Eastlyn Martin, Latish and Tishanna Lewis, Dixon and Anthony Martin.
She is also survived by more great-grandchildren: Rayshawn Joseph, Shaheem Lewis, Azane Brunstroff, Rumico Gordon; Lloyd, Aaron, Lotus and Jacob Lepree, Niya, Ani, Taitu and Ajani Velez, Eve-Marie Hughes, Syrus and Skylar Johnson, Francisco, Zaviah and Dalmare Sealey, Akima Cepeda, Johvanna, George Jr., Jahmara, Jah-Heed, Jaheem, Jahnilies, JahMarley, Jahnai and Jahyleen John, Yaneiris Cruz, and JahMario Cepeda, Jaheem Maxwell, Shaquan George, Jahdiera T.A. John, Shamoy J.D. John, Levisha A.M.I. John, D’Shawn E. Innocent, Lerida P.E. Isaac, Philbert O. Donald Isaac III, and Kiara Benjamin and Kimani Benjamin.
Other survivors include sisters: Eileen Walcott-Streams and Elisa Walcott-Powell; brothers: Victor Stevens and Henry Walcott; nephews: Charles Haynes, Lloyd Christian, Anselmo Walcott, Haraldo Charles, Ricardo Walcott, Meedil Williams and Roy Charles (Chirita); nieces: Ann Roberts, Mae-Agnes Trent, Veda Oliver, Sandra Pemberton-St. Clair and Vera James; granddaughter-in-law, Eastlyn Martin; grandson-ian-laws: Kurt Gordon and Sidney Lepree; 16 great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 29, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
