Vernon Anthony Rawlins Dies

Vernon Anthony Rawlins

Vernon Anthony Rawlins died on Oct. 30.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Rawlins; father, Everson Rawlins; adopted mother, Beverlygs; long-life partner, Marva Brown; sisters: Cherita and Natalie Francis; brother, Mitch Francis; sisters-in-law: Shawn Rawlins, Kim Smith Francis and Avril Rawlins; children: Wahkesha Rawlins, Wahkad Rawlins, Te’Andra Richardson and Vernon Rawlins (deceased); adopted daughters: Kalida Mayers, Wahkeem Rawlins and Wahjonii Rawlins; and granddaughters: Te’Chaye O’Neal and Aleyah Curtis.

He is also survived by adopted grandson, Joel Betancourt; nieces and nephews: Kayla Kelly, Kyle Kelly, Mitchia Francis, Knemoi Francis, Keyonna Reed and Tyler Plummer; uncles and aunts: Clement Browne, Angela Rawlins and Vincent Browne; great uncle, Clay Simmons and family; great aunt, Geraldine Barry; and cousins: Lavar Francis, Troy and Larry Rawlins, Alma Francis-Heyliger and family, Sonia and Mario Francis, Shelia Rawlins and family, Terry Francis and family, Sharon Caines, Hermon Caines, Laurizene Richards, Alafia Rawlins and Shelaine Rawlins.

Other survivors include special friends: Laverne Mayers and family, Sandra Claxton and family, Lisa Edmeade, Harriet Hodge and family, Cynthia Parrott and family, Mingle Wade, Valerie Weeks, Heado Ian Dupigny, Market Square Fisherman, Chepee and David; others: Brown family, Mayers family, Rawlins family and Francis family; adopted families: Francis family (Trinidad), Fay Cushnie (USA) and Lindo family (USA).

The viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The service will follow at 10 a.m. at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.
