Man Arrested for Firing Shots At a Residence on St. John

A St. John man was arrested and charged for firing gunshots at another man’s residence, the V.I. Police Department reported Thursday.

On Nov. 29, 2022, a man reported to VIPD that someone had fired shots at his residence, according to the police report.

The man said that a coworker was at his residence seeking refuge after a domestic incident with her boyfriend. The man stated that while the woman was at his residence, her boyfriend arrived looking for her. The man reported that the woman’s boyfriend left the residence and then fired shots at him, the police report stated.

During the course of the investigation, the man was later identified as 27-year-old Jordan Clendinen. An arrest warrant was later obtained for Clendinen and contact was made with him on Wednesday in the area of the ferry dock on St. John, the report stated.

Clendinen was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, assault in the third degree, trespassing, unlawful entry, and disturbance of the peace. He was unable to post bail, which was set at $100,000, and was therefore turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, police said.
