Lind was born on Jan. 30, 1942, in Boston, Mass., the eldest son of Lind Weber Sr. and Marion Rehill Weber.

The family moved to St. Thomas in the late 1940s. Lind grew up on St. John and St. Thomas, attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and graduated high school at Vermont Academy. He graduated from New York University in the romance languages and then returned to St. Thomas.

He is best known for his masterful stone masonry self-taught. His work can be seen on St. Thomas, St. John, St. James and Puerto Rico, primarily on private residences and estates as well as the library at the University of the Virgin Islands, the dock on St. John and the entrance to Antilles School.

As a young boy, he had his own sailboat and was a member of the Blue Marlins Dive Club, where, during a spearfishing tournament, he twice fought off a shark attack.

Lind moved to Georgia in 2000 where he continued to breed and raise his beloved game fowl. He published numerous articles in Grit and Steel, now a collector’s magazine. A Virgin Islands Renaissance man, he studied and was a member, author and lecturer of the American Federation of Astrologers. He wrote and published three books, including “The Arabian Parts Decoded” encompassing the ancient technique described as a complete work “bringing one of astrology’s most ancient techniques to the modern age.”

Quick of wit, cigar smoking, generous and a friend to many, he is survived by his partner of 45 years, Mary Kay Kemble; his daughters: Eleanor Ingraham Axelrod, Trevor Ingraham and two granddaughters; sister, Wendy Weber Noble; nieces, nephews and favorite cousin, Robert Wesley; and many friends, especially Eddie Emeric, Gregory Kirchoff and Bonnie Soto.

He died peacefully with Kay at his side in Louisville, Ky., and was cremated as he wished. A remembrance will be held at a later date on St. Thomas.
