Shots Fired, Man Found Dead in Christiansted

A man was shot and killed in the early morning hours Sunday in Christiansted on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.

911 received notification that shots were fired on Prince Street in the vicinity of Big Master, according to the police report.

When VIPD arrived on the scene, they discovered the remains of a Black man. EMS was notified and, upon arrival, found no signs of life, the police report stated.

The scene was processed by the Forensic Unit personnel and the Medical Examiner’s office
collected the remains of the victim, who was identified by his next of kin as 29-year-old
Robinson Ramirez Robles, police said.

Robles’ death marks St. Croix’s eighth homicide of the year and brings the territory’s total to 17 since the start of 2023, according to the Source Homicide List.*

The investigation into this matter continues. Anyone with information regarding this matter is urged to call 911, CIB Tip Line at (340) 778-4850, or Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1(800) 222-TIPS.

*The Source Homicide List is a chronological log of the homicides recorded in 2023 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, as reported by the VIPD. Cases are broken down by island. While this listing is based on VIPD reports, the Source does not include suicides or vehicular homicides in its listing, which the police and some other media do. This can lead to a discrepancy in the number of incidents reported.
