Two Critically Injured in St. Thomas Shooting; Suspect at Large

Two people are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and a suspect remains at large after a shooting just before midnight Wednesday in downtown St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported Thursday.

Police, alerted to the shooting at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday just off Veterans Drive, on the road outside the Petrus Gas Station, arrived to find a woman who had been shot in the face, and a man who was shot in stomach and groin, according to the report.

The victims were taken by ambulance to Schneider Regional Medical Center, according to the report, which described their injuries as life-threatening.

The suspect remains unknown and at large, police said. Anyone with information is urged to call 911, Detectives S. Rhymer or S. Donastorg at 340-774-2211, ext. 5575, or Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
