Plaskett Reports FEMA Has Awarded $9.6 Million to V.I. Fire Service on St. John

Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement announcing $9,612,345.56 in federal funding to the Virgin Islands Fire Service on St. John.

“I am very pleased that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continues to award grants to our local agencies to help with the resources needed to rebuild. This award to the V.I. Fire Service on St John is for the replacement of a building destroyed as a direct result of Hurricane Maria. This funding is authorized under Section 428 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

“These fundings will allow us to continue to build resiliency and economic prosperity.”
