McArthur Tyson Jarvis Dies

Patriarch McArthur Tyson Jarvis died on March 19 in Columbia, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Jarvis.

He is survived by his wife, Clytie Braithwaite Jarvis; son, Collin Jarvis; daughters: Carla Jarvis and Arthurlyn Jarvis Sanders; grandchildren: Janee, Jillary, Aquino, Kaela, Kiara and Khalil Jarvis, Keyon Edwards, Demond, Dallas and Lya Sanders, Ashley Jarvis and Dane Maduro Jr.; siblings: Bernard Soanes, Gaston Thomas and Edwina Carter; nieces and nephews: Skeet, Andy, Norbert and Dawn Jarvis,  Josephine, Virginia, Omawalle and Nicholas Samuel, Edson Ryan and Aury Carter George, Brittany, Courtney and Nyanja Thomas,  Dawn and Yvette Peterson; daughters-in-law: Corliss Joseph Jarvis and Cherise Williams Jarvis; son-in-law, Herman Demond Sanders; sisters-in-law: Irene Edney, Lenora Browne (Jimmy) and Gloria Braithwaite; brothers-in-law: Zoltan Braithwaite (Mandie) and Earl Braithwaite; uncle, Foster Charles; and godchildren: George Otto, Nigel Sheppard, Alfred Webbe, Dorn Davis and Connie Francis.

He is also survived by cousins: Sylvester Browne and family, Patricia Davis Warren and family, Kai Jackson and family, Rhoney Pryce and family, Charmaine Hackett and family, Reginald Thomas, Ineta Graham and family, Lerlene Arrindell and family, Rohan Coates Jr., the Coates family and the Claxton family; close friends: Inez James and family, St. Claire and Camella Greene, Jefroy Morrishaw, Aston Tushie Francis and family, Wesley Sheppard and family, Enoch Lewis, Hugh Gore, Leon Stevens, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Andy Roberts, Taddy Arrindell, Edmond Cornelius, Roxy Joseph, Calvin Richards, Leon Jarvis and family, Charles Anthony and family, Wesley Browne and family, Ynette Tyson and family, Clive Rivers Esq. and family, Calvert Gibson and family, Roosevelt David, George Goodwin, George Byam, Derrick Cole,  Jerry Bougouneaux, Weston Daniel, Kauwin James, Maxwell James, Q.T. The viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, at the James Memorial Funeral Home in LaGrande Princesse.

Tributes and a eulogy will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 27 King Street, Christiansted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
