An Island Night on the Town: Red Hook, St. Thomas

Red Hook, a seaside town on the east end of St. Thomas, USVI, offers several enjoyable options for an island night on the town. In this article, we’ll look at five ideas for having an exciting night out in Red Hook, along with suggestions for locations to visit.

  1. Small Town Vibe, Lots of Excitement

While it is much smaller than Charlotte Amalie, Red Hook has a lot going on during the daytime and nighttime!

Locals and visitors head to Red Hook for socializing and entertainment. With its multiple restaurants and bars to choose from, there are plenty of options for many culinary tastes and varying budgets.

2. Numerous Selections of Restaurants and Cuisine

For a small town, Red Hook has a variety of choices for types of food.

For example, Italian food is the specialty at “Pesce Italian.” The establishment prides itself on “. . . handmade pasta, a superb selection of wines, and warm hospitality,” according to the restaurant’s website.

For lovers of Mexican food, “Agave” is a great option. “The warm environment invites you to savor our ‛Qué Rico’ food, from the creamy queso and fresh guacamole to creative tacos and sizzling fajitas with house-made corn tortillas,” states the restaurant’s website.

For a casual dinner and a wide range of tasty tropical drinks to order, “Hook’D USVI” may be an excellent choice. And if you’re looking for a more upscale evening, “The Easterly St. Thomas” is an ideal eatery to select.

3. Bars and Local Hangouts

There are multiple bars to try out in Red Hook. Most taverns are open-air establishments by the harbor and possess a laid-back, tropical vibe.

One example of a bar and grille consistently providing for a fun night out is “The Tap and Still.” Inside and outside seating is available at the bar, offering views of the boats in the harbor while you sip your island drinks.

Other options for exciting bars in Red Hook include “Island Time Pub” and “Duffy’s Love Shack,” among others!

4. Stroll and Explore the Area 

Simply taking a stroll along the waterfront and main stretch in Red Hook can be an exciting experience for a night out. In addition to the numerous restaurants and eateries to choose from, a wide variety of charming shops welcome visitors.

Additionally, if you’re an ice cream enthusiast, be sure to swing by parlors such as “Sunny Days Ice Cream” or “Creamy Crepes.”

5. Sapphire Beach Live Music 

While it’s not located directly on the main stretch of Red Hook, you may jump into a cab or drive down the road to Sapphire Beach for a night of live music.

The “Sapphire Beach Bar” holds events regularly, including live entertainment and even “full moon parties” to dance in the moonlight!

Red Hook is a vibrant little area, constantly pulsing with energy. Now is the perfect time to visit here and have a thrilling night on the town, island-style!
