21-Year-Old Woman on St. Croix Arrested for Assault and Child Abuse

A woman on St. Croix was arrested Friday for assault of a minor, the V.I. Police Department reported Sunday.

Antenasia Marrero, 21, was arrested without incident at her place of employment for an incident that occurred Dec. 11, in which Marrero allegedly assaulted a minor child, causing visible injuries to the child’s neck, the police report stated.

Marrero was charged with assault, child abuse, and simple assault & battery, according to the report.

Bail was set at $50,000. Marrero was unable to post bail and was remanded to John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending her advice of rights hearing scheduled for Monday at the Superior Court, police said.
