The Youth and Apprenticeship team at the V.I. Department of Labor, in conjunction with the Governor’s Millennial Council, hosted an impactful “I Am The Future” Town Hall on Tuesday, April 5, at Antilles’ Prior Jollek Hall on St. Thomas. The town hall was also streamed live on the Government House – U.S. Virgin Islands Facebook page.

The team was joined by Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach Esq., chairman Michael Carty of the VI Workforce Development Board; DOL Commissioner Gary Molloy; Khalarni Rivers, president of the Governor’s Millennial Council; and former participants in youth programs.

The distinguished panelists encouraged youth to engage in all available opportunities to shape their future, whether it be through furthering their education or engaging in a specific trade and working after high school graduation. Commissioner  Molloy, said “It is always a pleasure to share current and upcoming programs designed for the youth of the territory to gain impactful workforce experiences.”

Pumpa also kept the energy high and delivered powerful and positive messages through his performances.

“The I Am The Future” Youth Town Hall was definitely one of the more interactive panel discussions I’ve had the pleasure of being part of. I am excited to help create more events and conversations like these that spotlight opportunities for young Virgin Islanders,” said Khalarni Rivers.
