St. Thomas Man Arrested on Kidnapping Charge

On February 2, at 8 a.m., Domestic Violence Unit detectives arrested 23-year-old Shamar Lewis of Lindbergh Bay, charging him with Kidnapping, Domestic Violence and 3rd Degree Assault, Domestic Violence.

According to police, Lewis is accused of taking his former intimate partner against her will at gunpoint from her home around 10:45 p.m. on February 1. During the abduction, Lewis allegedly assaulted the victim with the firearm. Police say Lewis then returned the victim to her home.

Lewis was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections without bail, in accordance with territorial domestic violence laws, pending his advice of rights hearing.
