Limetree Awards More than $500K in Charitable Donations, Scholarships

Limetree Bay Terminals LLC (Limetree Bay) has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships and charitable contributions to local non-profit organizations for 2021. “Limetree is committed to being a responsible member of the Virgin Islands community, and we are pleased to continue our support of these organizations whose impact greatly benefit the territory,” said CEO Jeffrey Rinker.

Nineteen local non-profit organizations were the recipients of $300,000 through the company’s Charitable Contributions program. The company also gave more than $100,000 in support of the University of the Virgin Islands Process Technology program.

Additionally, Limetree provided more than $100,000 in scholarships to local high school

seniors and college students under the company’s scholarship program.

Under Limetree Bay Terminal’s Charitable Contributions program, donation requests must support the advancement of education, environmental stewardship and community sustainability. In addition, all donations must be approved by the Government of the Virgin Islands (GVI) in accordance with the operating agreement between Limetree and the GVI. Limetree supported the following organizations in 2021:

American Cancer Society

Boy Scouts of America

Calypso Inc.

Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls

Cruzan Dance Company

Eddie Ortiz Annual Three Kings Tradition Inc.

Frederiksted Health Care Inc.

Lutheran Social Services Early Head Start

Lutheran Social Services Queen Louise Home

Lutheran Social Services Sister Emma Cottage

Project Promise

Ribbons for a Cure

St. Croix Education Initiative Inc.

St. Croix Rocketry Association Inc.

Ten Thousand Helpers of St. Croix Inc.

USVI Equestrian Equine Therapy Project, Inc.

V.I. Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council

Women’s Coalition of St. Croix

The cycle for the 2022 Charitable Contributions program begins in January, and the deadline to submit charitable donation requests is Sept. 30.
