Man Faces Firearm Charge after Stop on Christiansted Bypass

 

An Estate Whim 19-year-old was arrested by the V.I. Police Department and and charged him with violating firearm laws.

At 5:58 p.m. Thursday officers from the VIPD Special Operations Bureau were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by a man police identified as Andy L. Christian of Estate Whim. Police said in the course of the stop, which took place on the Christiansted Bypass, officers discovered he was in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Police charged him with carrying of a firearm, openly or concealed, and possession of ammunition.

Bail was set at $50,000 and Christian, unable to post bail, was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing.
