NOAA Seeks Input on Report: ‘Conserving and Restoring America the Beautiful’

On May 6, the U.S. Departments of the Interior, Agriculture and Commerce, and the White House Council on Environmental Quality released a report on “Conserving and Restoring America the Beautiful.” The report calls for a decade-long effort to advance locally-led and voluntary conservation and restoration in public, private and tribal lands and waters.

These efforts will build on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) five decades of conserving and connecting people to ecosystems, species and special places in the nation’s marine and Great Lakes environments. Guided by the eight core principles in the report, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking input from stakeholders on how to conserve and restore America’s oceans, coasts and Great Lakes using existing legal authorities.

NOAA wants to hear from the public at large and all interested stakeholders. It will be hosting opportunities for the public to learn about, and provide input on, “America the Beautiful.” Below are meeting details for two upcoming listening sessions:
