Denzil Nathaniel Silcott Dies at 65

Denzil Nathaniel Silcott

In loving memory of Denzil Nathaniel Silcott, who was born July 17, 1956; sunset on July 23, 2021.

Denzil was born on the island of St. Kitts and later travelled to St. Croix as a young man. He started off working at the airport as a mechanic. Later, he started his long working career at Hovensa Oil Refinery until his retirement. He loved working on cars and fishing on his free time. Anyone who knew him knew he would always have a smile and a beer.

Denzil was preceded in death by his ex-wife of 27 years, Marion Ann Browne Silcott.

He is survived by his mother and father: Dorothy and Edward Silcott; daughters: Andrea Browne- Matthews, Sonya Silcott and husband Lawrence Rowe, Kenya Silcott, Natalia Silcott-Ortiz and husband Takiba Ortiz, Shana McCallson and husband Tom McCallson; and son, Denzil N. Silcott Jr.

He is also survived by grandchildren: Maye, Caylin, Dylan, Sophie, Tristan, Shyla, Kaden, Nazelia, Naylani, Tehara and Tisseya; five brothers: Anthony, Lanval, Kailden, Stedroy and Edward; six sisters: Alicia, Karen, Leonora, Glendora, Ingrid and Sharon; favorite uncles: Vincent (Black), Boy Blue; and family and friends too numerous to mention.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 108 Herman Hill.  After the service, a repast potluck will be held at 116 New Works.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Schuster’s Crematorium LLC.
