Man Injured by Gunfire at Four Winds Plaza

A man was injured Thursday evening in a shooting that took place at the Four Winds Plaza on St. Thomas, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The police report on the incident did not report on the condition of the victim, who was being treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center. The victim was not identified, in accordance with department policy.

According to police, at approximately 8:54 p.m. Thursday the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to Four Winds Plaza in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned a male gunshot victim had been transported to Schneider by a private vehicle.

Witnesses reported hearing rapid gunshots, and seeing an unresponsive Black male on the ground.

The victim received multiple gunshot wounds about the body.

Detectives urge anyone with information about this incident to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 extension 5579, or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS). Tips can also be left online at the Crime Stoppers web site.
