A woman was treated for an injury to her hand early Monday after being injured by gunfire at her home, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police at about 12:52 a.m., Jan. 4 an adult female reported being shot in Contant.

The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, told officers that she was entering her residence with her boyfriend when gunshots were heard. After realizing she had been shot, the victim asked a neighbor to call 911.
