Woman Charged with Domestic Assault

The V.I. Police Department on Sunday reponded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Estate Smithfield and arrested 39-year-old Eva Moorhead.

According to the police report, police were dispatched at 7:44 a.m. Aug. 23. Upon arrival, officers learned that Moorhead had choked her male companion. Moorhead was placed under arrest as a result, charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence.

Bail was not offered to Moorhead, in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws. She was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
