STX Man Treated for Gunshot Wounds

A man was treated at Juan F. Luis Hospital Saturday for an injury received from a gunshot.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at about 6:51 p.m. Saturday the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to the Castle Coakley area of St. Croix in regards to a report about an individual who had been shot.

The victim, whose name was not released by the VIPD, told detectives he had been sitting under a tree when a vehicle pulled up, and an unknown person fired shots at him. The victim suffered several gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police urged anyone who has information that can help police resolve the case tp call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
