Three Buildings in Downtown Frederiksted Vandalized

Three buildings in downtown Frederiksted were vandalized with motor oil over the weekend, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police report, the 911 emergency call center received reports over the weekend of vandalism at three offices in downtown Frederiksted.

– At 8:27 p.m. Saturday a concerned citizen reported what appeared to be motor oil splashed on the doors of the Delegate to Congress’ office on King Street, Frederiksted. No other damage was observed to the building.

– On Sunday, citizens reported that motor oil had been used to vandalize the office of the Delegate to Congress, the Supreme Court and the Frederiksted Health Care building.

Investigation into the acts of vandalism are ongoing. Although police may have identified a person of interest, VIPD said it still needs the community’s assistance. Police urged anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator of the act to call 911, VIPD at 340-778-2211 or the anonymous top service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
