Man Arrested in Recent Mariendahl Robbery

Police on St. Thomas Tuesday morning arrested 19-year-old Jevon Thomas, of Bovoni, and charged him with first-degree robbery, among other charges, after he was identified as a suspect in the robbery on Friday in Estate Mariendahl.

According to the V.I. Police Department, a victim was robbed of his jewelry at gunpoint near his Mariendahl home Friday. Thomas was identified by investigators as one of four suspects.

Other charges filed against Thomas are second-degree robbery, first-degree assault, three counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, grand larceny, conspiracy and unauthorized possession of ammunition. He was held on $75,000 bail.

Police said the investigation into the matter is ongoing. VIPD urged anyone with information that can help solve the crime to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
