Police on St. Thomas Monday arrested 18-year-old Jaquan George, of Annas Retreat, and charged him with third-degree burglary, grand larceny, aiding and abetting and possession of stolen property.

According to the police report, on Jan. 13 officers had been dispatched to Mitchell Auto Sales on St. Thomas, where the manager reported that two vehicles were missing from the lot and a window of the business was broken. Police said a thorough investigation revealed that George and a minor were suspects in this matter.

The suspects apparently drove the vehicles out of the lot and kept the vehicles in their possession.

Bail for George was set at $50,000, which he could not post. He was subsequently remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.

Police urged anyone with information about the case to contact 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5610 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
