Sorority Recognizes MLK Day by Serving Others

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Cruz Bay on St. John.

The inclement weather could not dampen the spirit of service of Dr. King’s legacy and the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., whose motto is “Service to All Mankind.”

AKA participated in service projects on St. Thomas and St. John Monday, Jan. 20. Members from Sigma Theta Omega Chapter in the St. Thomas-St. John District and Rho Omicron from the University of the Virgin Islands held a commemorative program for the residents of Bethlehem House Homeless Shelter and served a meal.

AKA sisters take part in MLK Day of Service at Bethlehem House on St. Thomas.

On St. John, members distributed meals in Cruz Bay to emergency service personnel and the community at large.

On St. Thomas, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. also participated in the Annual Peace March hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
