Police Arrest Suspect in 2001 STT Murder

At about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, 46-year-old Reynaldo Rafael Rivera, who had been incarcerated on unrelated charges in Atlanta, was arrested on a Virgin Islands Superior Court warrant after being extradited to St. Thomas.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Rivera was charged with first-degree murder in the 2001 homicide of Kenric Troy Mason, who was shot Dec. 26, 2001, in the area of Market Square East.

No bail was set for Rivera, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
