STX Man Charged with Breaking into High School

The V.I. Police Department on Monday arrested 33-year-old Adolphus Pennyfeather Jr., of no fixed address, and charged him with breaking into a classroom a St. Joseph High School on St. Croix.

According to the VIPD report, a teacher at St. Joseph High School in Estate Mt. Pleasant opened her classroom Monday morning to find her desk ransacked and a man, later identified as Pennyfeather, laying on the floor. The teacher left the classroom to alert the school’s principal of what she found, and Pennyfeather left the area.

Police said officers found him a short time later with items stolen from the teacher’s desk.

Pennyfeather was arrested at about 9:24 p.m. and charged with third-degree burglary. Bail was set at $25,000 and unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
