Update: Power Restored on Most of STT, STJ

The Water and Power Authority restored power to most customers on St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island, and Hassel Island at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday following a district-wide electrical service interruption that began at 7:24 a.m.

According to WAPA’s news release, 1,746 customers on a portion of Feeder 7C – from the top of Cassi Hill to the Sapphire Resort – were still without service, as were 1,691 customers on a portion of Feeder 7A, from Four Corners intersection along St. Peter Mountain Road, Barrett Hill, Hull Bay, Lerkenlund, and Northstar Village.

The affected customers will be restored as adquate levels of generation capacity have been re-established at the Randolph Harley Power Plant, WAPA said.

Currently, two units are dispatched, and plant personnel are working to bring a third unit on line.
