Four Seriously Injured in STX Shooting

Four men were seriously injured Friday in a shooting at the David Hamilton Jackson Terrace Housing Community, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, on Friday the 911 emergency call center received reports of multiple shots being discharged in the Jackson community. (The police report did not give the time of the reports.)

At the scene police learned that two men where transported to the JFL Hospital by private vehicles. Two other men were transported by ambulance.

Preliminary findings said a group of male individuals where sitting on the bench in David Hamilton Jackson Terrace Housing Community when a vehicle drove in and opened fire, striking four of the men. The men all received serious injuries from a high-powered rifle and are in serious but stable condition as of Saturday morning.

St. Croix Police Chief William Harvey asked that anyone in the the community with information about this shooting to contact the VIPD at 340-778-2211, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. Tips to Crime Stoppers that result in a case being closed can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.

“We are working 24/7 to preserve the safety in this community, however we need your help,” Harvey said. “Crime Stoppers continue to offer reward money at the anonymous tip-line leading to an arrest or apprehension. We all can make a difference; the information you provide may make the that difference.”
