The Economic Crime Bureau of the V.I. Police Department on Wednesday arrested Alain Rodriguez of Florida on a warrant charging him with grand larceny, possession of stolen property, forgery and obtaining money under false pretense, the police announced Saturday.

According to the VIPD, Rodriguez was identified as the individual who cashed, possessed and forged several checks belonging to Virgin Islands Port Authority Marine-Revenue.

On June 11, a VIPA reported that several checks belonging to that agency had been stolen and cashed for an undisclosed amount.

Rodriquez bail was set at $250,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
