Biweekly Mental Health Peer Support Workshop Offers Free Conference Calls

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

A Mental Health Peer Support Workshop will hold a free, live peer support workshop conference call every second and fourth Tuesday at 3 p.m. Learn about mental health peer support, which is the offering of help and support based on personal experience.

Topics covered:
-What is peer support?
-How peer support benefits persons living with mental health diagnoses
-Benefits of peer-led services
-How to become a peer support worker
-How to tell your story
-How to engage the community to make a change

Persons or family members who have lived with the experience of mental health challenges are encourage to join. Questions will be answered by National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) STAR Center http://www.peerstar.org/ and (DRCVI) Disability Rights Center of the Virgin islands www.DRCVI.org. Questions are welcomed.
