James A. Gerard died on May 14.

The first viewing will be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 31, at Turnbullโ€™s Funeral Home. The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Interment will be at Francis Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Trika L. Gerard; brother, Antonio Gerard; sister, Linda Gerard; sister-in-law, Sonia Francis; uncle, Lionel Hermon; nephews: Glen Francis, Ray Francis, Brian Francis, Vigilio โ€œBennyโ€ Luis, Delroy Venzen, Grayson Smith, Dwayne Francis, Emile โ€œPapitoโ€ Francis and Henry Francis Jr.; and nieces: Isa Shacove, Desiree Francis-Harrigan, Diane Shacove-Pinney, Martha Luis, Laurie Francis-Venzen, Maura Gerard, Lucita Francis, Delma โ€œLavyโ€ Francis, Alicia Chemont, Lucia Chemont, Sherese Smith, Antonia Chemont, Juanita Chemont, Sonell Francis and Christiana Francis.

He is also survived by cousins: Kenneth Hermon Sr., Almira Smith, Olivine Brathwaite, Zandra Ritter, Coreen Brathwaite, Nytha Brathwaite, Franklyn โ€œFrankieโ€ Brathwaite Sr., Patricia Phillips, Edith Joshua, Roy Mercer Sr., James Martin, Alicia Brathwaite-Jennings, Edward โ€œEddieโ€ Brathwaite, Wilburn โ€œMooseโ€ Hendricks, Monique Perkins, Dina Hermon, Barbara Hermon, Yvette Hermon, Anson Larcheveaux, Louella Herman and Golda Hermon; godchild, Kela Brathwaite; caretaker, Tenisha Philbert; special friends: Gilbert Carty, Conchita Benjamin and the members of the Police Law Enforcement Class of 90-92; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
