Police Arrest Smith Bay Stabbing Suspect

Jamil A Bell, 38, of St. Thomas, was arrested May 1 and charged with third-degree assault after an incident in which a man was stabbed, the V.I Police Department reported in a news release issued Monday.

Police charged Bell with use of a dangerous weapon, brandishing, simple assault/battery, obscene/indecent conduct and disturbing the peace/fighting.

According to police, on April 19 Bell assaulted the victim, whose name was not released, with a broken bottle and stabbed the victim with a knife.

Bell’s bail was set at $25,000 by order of the court and he was processed and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise of rights hearing.
