STT: Webster Charged with Domestic Violence Kidnapping, Other Offenses

The V.I. Police Department on Friday arrested 31-year-old Patrick Webster and charged him with kidnapping and other offenses, the police reported.

According to police, a 61-year-old woman reported Friday that a family member tried to extort money from her by forcing her into her vehicle and driving her to the bank so that she could withdraw money from her account to give to him.

The victim, who was not identified by police pursuant with department policy, told officers she went with Webster because she feared he would harm her if she did not do as he said. She said he has assaulted her in the past and was arrested for that incident as well.

Webster was apprehended in the vicinity of the Fort Mylner Banco Popular. He was charged with kidnapping for extortion/domestic violence, false imprisonment/DV, attempted extortion and disturbance of the peace.

No bail was set as per the DV statue and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections Detention Center.
