Eugenia Amaro Navarro died on Jan. 17.
She is survived by her adopted daughter/niece, Esperanza Meléndez; great-nieces: Marisel Meléndez, María Esther Meléndez-Tirado, Marilin Meléndez and Maribel Meléndez; great-great-nieces: Yaritza Tirado and Arianna Averette; great-great-nephew, Roberto Tirado Jr.; sisters-in-law: Hyacinth Amaro and Beryl Amaro; nieces: Esther Caraballo, Aida Caraballo, Carmen Serrano, Lydia Melendez, Carmen Parillon, Mabel Richardson, Zoila Amaro, Gladys Amaro-Decena, Elena Amaro Hodge, Lucia Amaro-Stridiron, Luz Amaro and Lucia Amaro;
She is also survived by nephews: Miguel Caraballo, Juan Caraballo, Preston Amaro, Damaso Amaro, Aucasio Amaro, John Amaro, Derek Amaro, Dr. Luis Amaro, Jose Amaro, Antonio Serrano, Alphonso Serrano, Michael Callwood and Charles Callwood; special family: Lucy “Poly” Amaro, Richard L. Callwood, Luis “Tito” Amaro, Roberto Serrano, Lucy E. Amaro Torres and Wilfredo Garcia Padilla; extended family and friends; many nieces, nephews and cousins on the island, Puerto Rico and abroad; as well as countless sisters and brothers from Asamblea Cristiana El Oasis.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at Asamblea Cristiana El Oasis. Interment was at Western Cemetery No. 2.
