Kathleen L. Rodgers Dies at 91

Kathleen L. Rodgers

Kathleen L. Rodgers died on Dec. 16 at her residence. She was 91 years old.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Reginal R. Daniels (Philadelphia); daughters: Sheryl R. Soto, Felice F. Morrow and Coreen D. Rodgers-Reed; sons: Alphonso (Alito) Rodgers Jr. and Steven A. Rodgers; sons-in-law: Lennie G. Reed and Christopher Morrow; and grandchildren: Victoria Soto, Kyle K. Monsanto, Michelle Williams-Ballantine, Akeel J. Francis, Amber N. Francis, Vaughn Morrow and Kerstin Thompson, Serita (Ashley) Rodgers, Adrian (Mikey) Francis, Lenika A. Reed, Lennise A. Reed, Lennie A. Reed and Laurence Reed.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Orlando Carino, Aiden J. J. Francis, Asia M. Francis, Zarrin W. Walters II, Kyla Monsanto, Zoe Ballantine, Anyce Francis, Noah A. Ballantine, Adejah Myers and Faith Joseph; nieces: Lorraine Richards, Dawn Rodgers, Ramona Rodgers-Faoye (N.Y.), Lynette (Bakeeta) Rodgers, Myrtle Farrelly and Denise Farrelly; nephews: James (Monday) Dowling Jr., Leslie Francis (N.Y.), Darril (Bucky) Rodgers Sr., Errol (Skeebo) Rodgers and Levron (Pops) Sarauw; and cousins: Barbara Johnson (N.Y.), Francis L. Bost-Quick (N.Y.), Ruth Lang-Richardson and Chainie Lang-Branningan.

Other survivors include devoted caregiver, Verissa Smith; godchildren: Alicia Sprauve (Ga.), Lionel Bess, Bernice Jackson, Irene George, Lynda Williams, Zianna Tuitt, Isabella Brown and Dacia Glasgow; and special friends: Leon Roberts, Valderie Abramsen, Juana Corsino, Mr. Rolando Roper and family, Clara George, Gethel Tuitt, We From Upstreet and Friendly Circle at FELC. She is also survived by the Rodgers, Thomas, Lang and Edwards families on St. Croix.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend first viewing from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at Celestial Chapel of Dan Hurley Homes for Funerals.

A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Frederick Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Memorial Moravian Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan Hurley Homes for Funerals and Cremation Center of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix.
